It's where you create an opportunity to interact with the community or neighborhood, so you can meet people outside of a church setting, and actually make friends with them.
Did you know that if a FRIEND or family member invites someone to church, 82% will say yes? (That's a statistic I heard recently, anyway.)
It's a bridge. Event.
To me, it makes a lot of sense. In this day and age of high technology, and small amounts of real person-to-person interaction, a lack of intimacy, and a basic mistrust of strangers, then I think we need to involve ourselves with the community as much as possible, and create opportunities where the community will want to involve themselves with Christians.
Just the provision of an opportunity--that's all.
Make friends with a person first, and they're more likely to listen when you have something important to say. Say something important before they know and trust you, and it'll probably fall on deaf ears.

Re: 20 First Time Visitors at our EGG HUNT!!!!
OH My Goodness!!!! God is soooo good!!!
We had 30 visitors yesterday morning. Olin came to church and came to the altar at the end of the service and I was singing and looked up and he had his hands raised in the air and tears running down his cheeks. My husband was so busy praying with people that he did not see Olin. I tried to tell him without using words because I was singing by myself, so I finally grabbed him by the back of his his head and turned his head in Olin's direction and he finally saw him. He went down and prayed with some around him and then took his hand and prayed with him.
He was extremely impressed with the service and the singing and then the food.
We had a lot of first time visitors and we got to shake hands with them all and they came back and ate with us.
I almost had a cat with claws. We had 82 people and had only planned for about 50. I kinda felt like the little boy with the loaves and fishes, the Lord stretched the food and we had enough for everybody and then had plenty to take home with us.
Bro. Scott, yes I cooked a big dinner yesterday and had about 75 guests.
So, pagan or not....it's outreach and the Lord blessed us.
Ya'll have a GREAT and BLESSED day today. Headed to work...

Re: 20 First Time Visitors at our EGG HUNT!!!!
P.S. Several said that this was the best ham I had EVER fixed. Even hubby said that. So it must have been good.
They asked for the recipe and all I did was made a paste of brown sugar and ketchup and put it on the hams and then added water to the cookers and then let them cook from about midnight til about 8:30 Sun morn. It's easy and I'm lazy, so there ya go!!
Like I said...God is good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
