That the saint is quite capable of living for God and that leadership isn't on a "higher" level than the saint. They are equals and are to be submitted one to another. This doesn't take away the activity of the 5 fold at all -- after all the 5 fold are to bring maturity to the saint. It allows the saint to be able to realize their own potential in God.

Nor have I said you did make that implication ... but the implication was made in this thread ....

I would think that the doctrines set the boundaries.

Does it actually matter what church I attend? But I will answer your question, I gather with a group of believers in homes -- a small group, sure, but I still have people to whom I am submitted.

I can agree with that (though we may disagree on what those doctrines are) but doctrines are not buildings.

Thanks for giving me the benefit of the doubt, ILG.
That is exactly what I meant.

So you have a church then. She doesn't.Is it really about the welfare of this sister or just a rant of idealism?

Dan, I'm not talking about an organization. I could care less if she is UPC. I'm talking about a fellowship of believers who support and exhort and bear one anothers burdens. A three fold cord is strong but if your by yourself who will pick you up when you fall?
9 Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. 10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. 11 Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone? 12 And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching
