Re: We're Not Putting X-Mas Trees Up!

One thing I thought was interesting is, the last few years you have heard about people saying that stores are trying to take Christmas out of the equation by using Happy Holidays etc.... Well, I was listening to several reports and talk shows here and there and a funny theme came up on many of them. They all noted well isn't technically Christmas pagan in origin and would talk about it's origins which actually was devestating to the whole argument. This from secular and conservative media.

What is anti-fun? That would depend on what you call fun. Halloween back in my BC days would of staggard a liberal apostolic, never mind a conservative.
the xmas celebration was identical to the halloween, as was the 4th of July, wait a minute? I think it was like every weekend.

I think it because the Brother might be learning and getting more revelation?
So, let's see you all get the Holy Ghost and know everything there is to know?

Sounds like were wrong and are still wrong? So were do you go from there?
So xmas is wrong and we don't celebrate it nor any other festival.

Maybe they will and keep learning or the others keep covering.

Everybody be fully persuaded in your own mind.

Also, why would I want to bring something that has clear pagan origins, and is pagan in practice, slap a 'Christian' label on it, and then proclaim I am still holy? This is ludacris!

I do not need to go bankrupt. I do not need to practice paganism. And, I do not need to know the ways of the heathen. Some of y'all seriously need to find an altar... seriously!
Corporate worship has it's roots in Paganism.

As it was meant to defile the Children of Israel in public view.

As were the 3 Hebrew Children sent into the fire.

The worship of the Jew's was done through the priest as he passed through the Tabernacle to the Holiest of Holies.

The word testimony comes from the Romans who required the Jew's to hold their Testicles as they were told to denouce Christ of fight the lion's.

I think what you need to do is take a long hard look at your own practices and understand where they originate.

Is anyone arguing that Christmas does not have pagan origins? I believe everyone accepts that, unless I missed something.

Hold on you're making way too much sense now, we wouldn't want anyone to make sense out of this disscussion.

No we are arguing how some people can fight tooth and nail to make a pagan holiday Christian.

Some of us are just sick of Pentecostals taking anything that we find even remotely enjoyable in life and making it a sin... that's why I stopped listening to any of it and I do whatever is right in my own mind...
