They just said on the news that they don't record the ages of the mothers when they give birth because they know that they are breaking Texas law.
At the same time - I say this while holding my breath because I already know I am going to offend some on here - when I first saw the women from this group, they looked exactly like Apostolic women to me. Long hair done up Pentecostal style. Long dresses. No make-up. And I'll tell you honestly, many, many Pentecostal women I know look much older than their real ages. MOST of us look older than our actual ages without at least a small amount of make-up. Then add the hair-do's and there goes a few more years............
Plus, the one other thing we have to keep in mind is the trauma that these women are experiencing right now. Everybody looks much older when they are in the middle of a crisis time.
I agree with some of what you've said Margie, stressful situations etc.. although it's been my experience that the no make up thing sometimes works for a woman... my mom looks much younger than many many of the ladies she has worked with and she is older than some of them. She doesn't wear any make up of any kind.
Another thing, if the reports of the amount of work these woman do are correct, they work long hours, put in long days, have numerous numerous children in their lifetimes... it's not a wonder they look 10 or more years older than they claim... plus the fact people wear make up when on tv for a reason. lol
It has been my experience that Apostolic woman who don't have hard rough lives, with a lot of stress, and take care of their skin by creams or staying out of the sun etc... do stay looking younger. (depends on your gene's too)
Depending on how you wear your make up, a person can make themselves look older (especially younger woman)... and woman who cake it on, often look older because you can tell they're hiding their face, so to speak.
I have to add.. The Mrs, I would have never guessed you to be 42 from any of your profile pics. You look much younger.. I wouldn't have put you a day over 35 for certain. (no lie)

I'm really torn on this issue.. as most of us are. In the one hand, the religious freedom, the fact kids need their loving parents.. or at least moms.
And on the other hand, our society has laws for a reason. If we don't enforce them they are useless to us.

Well, you could say that. But personally I put more stock in a compliment regarding my personality than in do in one regarding my looks. Looks come and go. Personality is who you are for all your life.

Margie, I hope you don't get offended by what I will say here on this thread.
I like the no make up look and prefer a natural look.
I am not saying that those who do are hellbound, but I prefer a natural look.
We are aging & getting older that is a fact, the scripture below tells us not to seek after outward beauty but inward beauty of the spirit.
I think that it is vanity as the scriptures say to concentrate on making ourselves "Beautiful."
Now I am going grey, I am getting older. I could use grecian formula to retain
my black hair, but I don't.
I prefer to be natural because I am going to get old, wrinkly, & what will count is if my spirit & attitude is right before God.
That is the most important thing.

A year or so ago some of the young boys ran away from their so called ranch because all the old sexual perverts was taking the young girls as wives and left them with none.I think they need to put all the perverts in jail.

Waiting for the fur to fly!
Ron,
you don't offend me a bit. In all honesty, altho I see nothing wrong with make-up, I admit that I very rarely bother with it. I come from several generations of darker skinned people - no blonde hair and blue eyes in our family. And our complexions have always been soft and smooth. And I have plenty of eye lashes. So I've never needed much make-up.
But I have friends who are UPC who have very fair skin and light colored eyelashes. They would definately look younger with a bit of make-up. But I respect their points of view and would never ever say anything negative to them about it.
My only point with these ladies (the ones from the compound) was that they might look older because of the lack of make-up. With a little face paint, you might be surprised at how young some of them would suddenly appear.
