Technically speaking, Prax, the ministers in the Southern portion of the state wanted to form a new district. The majority of the pastors in the southern region are moderate, hence the perception out there that more moderate churches wanted to form a new district. It has everything to do with geography.

Most likely the UCons...in the north? My understanding is the churches in the south are overwhealmingly in favor of it with the exception of a few UC pastors I know of...because they would be stuck in the southern, more moderate district.

But my point here is...so what? Those same pastors are already boycotting WD youth conventions and campmeetings and having their own. This is why I don't get how the split did not pass.

I can only think this is another case of voting a certain way just to spite someone or some group

Yes, Force a split to Two and a half Districts.

(The proposal leans toward a Southern Nevada Home Missions District too)

TRUE...which is very different here. When leadership has tried to not tolerate this behavior...we get a letter writing campaign slamming the district. One was the topic here a few months ago. Unfortunately, it is a FIGHT for CONTROL.

So then would you agree that most of the votes were probably from northern pastors?

Another problem with the district and getting to meetings...our section stretches from Thousand Oaks to Paslo Roblos....it's like a 4 hour drive from one end to the other...what kind of a section is that? There are other sections here where the churchs are located more circularly around each other rather than stretched in one long line. And that will never change as long as nobody wants to make a new district...nobody is going to redraw the sections.

Does that matter to some of these Pastors? No. Becaus they don't fellowship the other churches anyways. This is absurd. What's the point in being an organization anymore? You can be independent and still have a fellowship of churches. P white left and still fellowships other UPCs that have not "compromised" (to use their words)

It is on both sides SoCali, as one side feels they have no representation on the District Board. Paul Price did such a great job at keeping the sides at bay for so long.

I would not want the job of DS here for sure.
