We did that as a precaution as well...didn't stay in the upc long after that.

To be honest, when we voted to disaffiliate, I had no inclination to be out of the upc. I really thought I'd just be on the liberal fringe...but I pastor on the wrong side of the red river.

Sounds honorable to me.
You really do need to get and read both books and evaluate them for yourself.. They are worth the effort. I don't know if DW has kept up his website since his health issues but you used to be able to purchase them from it.

I understand what NYLP is saying when he says that DW's intent with Pendelum Extremes was in his mind to "balance" things out but it just did not make sense to me and my impression was that it was a retreat to the OTP mindset in some ways.

I need to find them both and read them again and see if my impression would still be the same.

He also wrote another book after those two that came out a few years ago that I don't have but would like to. The title escapes me.

Can you feel my pain...ROTFL!!!!

There are at least three rivers that border Texas...Rio grande, Sabine, Red River....if you are going to rely on the Urshan letter to get you off the holiness hook....cross the Sabine!!!!!!!!

As a side note... I am always curious to discover what the EXers become after they leave... some get tight with the word of faith crowd, while others are now Anglican... (both good reasons to stay UPC!)

I would never imply that Bro. Urshan was not for holiness.....to the contrary!

BUT....he did understand you cannot legislate holiness!

Then many of us are neither of those things! As I am sure you know by now I abhor the perversion of the gospel that is the so called "prosperity gospel" and I am certainly no Anglican!
