Elder Strange,
I am tired of the emotionalism that proclaims "WE HAD CHURCH TONIGHT!"
I have been in many services where God moved mightily and no one shouted, ran, or danced in the Spirit. But the altars were full of those crying and seeking God.
In talking with a sister this past week, she told of one church she had attended where people, especially young people, would shout so that people would STOP praying for them, dragging them to the altar, and shaking them mercilessly, pushing their heads back, screaming "let go" in one ear and "hang on" in the other. They shouted for self-preservation, not because they felt anything from God.
And competitive holiness marches on.....

Is that what she does? And if so how does she know everyone else does it? Does anyone remember how vicious rumors get started by just one person?
And they say Thad has a problem?
Thad talks about someone ordering a 400 dollar lobster and that's a bad thing but suggest a UPCI preacher has a demonic spirit and that's ok?!?!?!
I think we need to be more careful...how many times have one of you thought or hears someone else say about a singer that she was just singing for herself, not for God? Like we can read her heart. If we wanted to then we can say the same thing about anyone...someone that wins souls or preachers or is used of in the gifts or alter working

I was raised here. I attended campmeeting in the old tabernacle. No, not the tabernacle before the present one. I'm talking about the "old" tabernacle that later became the dining hall. It was just a small building that set up on the hill in the 1940s. Here, I was the first Youth Camper in 1954. These here are my "roots" of which Anthony preached a really great message last night.
But, something is different. I can't put my finger on it exactly. The form in the same. The people look the same. But there is something different in the spirit. A spiritual change has slowly crept in over the years that even I would have not recognized had I been here each of the past 25 years. But, since I've not been here, I come back to weep, recognizing a change in the spirit.
Someone hailed as a "prophet" spoke words that were strange, from a spirit that I was quite familiar with. I am so surprised and shocked that Apostolic people are sooooo gullible. I wanted to puke. Though I recognized the spirit immediately, when he began to speak concerning "an uncommon seed for an uncommon harvest" and other words in the same vein, there could be no doubt about it. Then he "prophesied" to different ones. I said to that spirit, "Ah yes ol' boy, I recognize who you are."
Anthony preached a great message, as usual. However, I left the crowded tabernacle with a cast down spirit, amazed, discouraged, upset and bewildered.
While walking slowly back to my pickup truck, I heard someone call my name. I was happy to seen an old friend. Then another called my name. Though happy to see each of them, I could not help but see the ruin of time upon their lovely faces. I hugged the brothers and sisters with joy and gladness as my heart rejoiced to see them again.
Though joy filled my heart from the encounter with these precious saints, I am so bewildered. My heart hangs heavy this morning as I write these few words.
I heard a voice in the early hours of this morning as I thought upon these things, "Watchman, what of the night..." I answered in an audible voice, "The night cometh and also the morning."

If the author of this post is a voice that is heard among the elders of the apostolic movement, why is this complaint published on an internet forum to be read by children and critics alike.
If the author of this post is not a voice that is heard among the elders of the apostolic movement, why is this complaint published on an internet forum to be read by children and critics alike.
I choose not to rebuke an elder, even an internet elder, but I would entreat the author to be more judicious in publishing complaints and criticisms against God's people.

But Bro Strange did not say his "FEELINGS" were that this man had a wrong spirit, but that He understood "BY THE SPIRIT" of this man that his spirit was not right. If Bro Strange had merely state that he "FELT" this man was off, I could accept that he could be wrong in his assumption.
Again, sometimes we are too close to a person to see their path could be off. Especially when we call them "friend".

You used the word "felt". Felt = feelings. Feelings are subjective. Look, there are a zillion prophets on the face of the planet and I believe I have met many of them. They all point fingers at each other and accuse the others of being false prophets and claim they felt it in the spirit.
This I know.....no man, whether they are a prophet or claim to be one, has yet to achieve a state of pure spirit whereby the flesh has been perfected. So it bothers me to hear one voice say another person is speaking by a demonic spirit...
I would expect a friend to know me better than someone that never met me but only heard some words I said and suddenly they "felt" I was speaking by a demonic spirit. Sometimes you don't need to be someone's friend to be biased or just "off" or misled by feelings and not rather by facts or let along the voice of the Spirit.
I'm not in anyones camp here. I refuse to jump on anyones bandwagon and start labeling others as having demonic spirits or going with some "group" out there and perhaps even faking a prophesy by just repeating sound bytes they heard from some other person based on so little information.
As I said I am in nobody's camp, but I know good men and women have been tried and found guilty based on such subjective evidences and I find it very unfair to this person. How else is this person to receive a defense if not for someone that knows them to speak up? Or even someone that was there and claims they felt the Holy Ghost...then someone discredits them by suggesting they have subscribed to the same false group? Come on, we might as well rename the forum "Salem Witch Hunters Fellowship"

this is Bro Stranges words. Though I may have attributed it to feelings, he did not.

Now whether he is right or wrong will remain to be seen, as time is a good revealer.

It seems many have jumped on the bandwagon before time has told...that's sad. Bro Strange might be right too, but all we have is his saying he felt it...that could be "in the Spirit" or it could be in the flesh. Maybe it was Bro Strange that is biased or maybe it was the friend of that person who is. I don't see any facts though. I see felt. I see words that are similiar off of ONE, not several instances but ONE instance. I see someone else saying they felt God. I see someone else saying that prophecy to that person infact was true...It's all just he said she said stuff and not hard facts.
If you all want to do that fine, but someone tell me why this is better than Thad mentioning some preacher ordering a 400 dollar lobster!
