Re: Rove is predicting Obama winning 338

Sorry Mike but Karl Rove is a political genius. You just don't like anything Republican and probably find all of us "repugnant".

I tend to agree with Karl on the electoral total Obama is likely to get although I am doubtful he will win Florida. I have hope that his close association and friendship with very vocal anti Jewish people will cause the traditional Jewish Democrat voter to pause before voting for him and retired Jewish folks are a pretty big voting block in Florida.

Of course if Obama has registered most of the ghetto in Miami and bussed them in during early voting that could be a big factor in swinging that state his way.

Dems have worked hard in recent years to make registering to vote very easy and passed early voting laws that give them weeks to bus in urban ghetto voters that make up their base over a period of weeks in most states.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

I am so glad that people of all economic strata are easily able to participate in the election process. Could you imagine the ramifications of the extreme opposite, where only the rich were able to cast a vote?

This land is your land, this land is my land!

I am not. The last thing we need is ignorant people who don't understand or follow issues to be voting only on the basis of a persons skin color or what they have been promised.

An ancient philosopher once said that Democracy would only last until the populous realized they could vote themselves the treasury.

I am afraid that is where we are at today. We are at a time where people want something for nothing and if you promise them free health care, free college educations, etc they vote for you.

If you vote you ought to at least have to make an effort to do it. That culls out those who should not be voting because they don't have a clue or care enough to invest time and energy in the issues and canidates.

Wow. Just wow! What other archaic and unconstitutional forms of voter suppression do you support? Are you for poll taxes, etc..? How about a new voting pre-test that voters have to pass so we'll know they're "informed" enough?

What a shame in democracy when citizens who, in your subjective opinion, don't have the intelligence to vote actually get to cast a ballot like the constitution calls for.

No wonder you're so fond of Karl Rove. Your ideas sound like something his "genius" mind would have come up with.

I dont know if Rove has his own polling or if he is looking at McCains but I do know he has non-public polls to look at.

You can say what you want about Rove, but the guy is a master at this game.

Say the working people supported 55% of the population, and had to do so because they could never elect anyone to change things.

Obviously the 55% will grow, im sure you can see why.

Is this democracy good, or bad?

LOL! CC1 is being kind. I am much more mean!

I dont think people on public doll should be allowed to vote.
I would require (like the founders) that only people who own property be allowed to vote.
and YES! I might be for a poll tax!

Hows that for unconstitutional voter suppression? I am FOR IT!

and it comes back to two things, 1. as CC1 points out, democracy dies when people realize they can vote themselves largess from the public tresury. and 2. we live in a republic (or we should) not a pure democracy.

CC, I used to think that but have seen too many things recently that demonstrates that he is just a talking head and a puppet. Granted he does present the party line well, but I just don't have respect for anyone who is capable of being that subjective to the point of the illogical and wildly inconsistent.

You have to seperate the political genius from the partisan political hack aspects of the man.

He got GWB elected twice during a pretty difficult time. that makes him a political genius.

that does not mean he is not a partisian republican willing to do what it takes to get republicans elected.

you can respect the first even if you dont respect the second....
