Same here, except for the young part, young at heart count?

So what? People do all kinds of things while driving. One of my ex SIL's use to put on her make-up while driving. Ran into a tree once and messed up her car. She was not injured, and this was before air bags.
Moral to this story, don't drink, text, and drive.

I have been guilty sending emails and even looking at maps on my blackberry (posting on AFF during church notwithstanding), while driving and several times I have had close calls...
I have pretty much given it up after having the droppings scared out of me.
How many of you text or email or post while driving?
Well...I suggest you give it up, but I am not going to advocate a law to dictate your morality.
Re: Girl dies in a car accident while sending text
I don't use the email on my cell. I rarely send text messages. (Except to Tamor when she's working... LOL) I'm definitely not driving and trying to text message someone. If I am driving and receive a message that's so urgent that it must have an immediate answer, I'll use the voice activation on my phone and tell it to call the person. Then I'll use the handsfree set to talk. I hate being a distracted driver. My life, and my kids lives are more important to me than sending a message.
Re: Girl dies in a car accident while sending text
I've done it a few times, and while in the process mentally acknowledged how stupid I am being. I didn't do it very well either.
Speaking of walking and texting, my pastor mentioned Sunday morning (his message was actually titled "Text Messaging"!) that there is a town that has actually installed padding on their street light and utility poles because there have been so many injuries from people walking into poles! I can't remember where it was.
