Should we except preaching as the word of God without questioning, or is it our responsibility to make sure that the "commentary" lines up with the written word of God?
Is preaching the word of God, or is it commentary on the word of God?
Preachers are suppose to preach and teach the Word of God. Some preachers are not called of God. IMO. And then its just commentary. The bible says we are saved by the foolishness of preaching. I love preaching.

If the preacher reads from the Word we usually know this, his "preaching" is commentary or his thoughts on the scriptures.
How do we make sure his "commentary" lines up with the Word of God? During or after?

Some preaching is commentary and other preaching is the actual word of God?
Well.. preachers suppose to preach the Word. Not their opinion.
So preaching should be just reading scriptures?
