DON'T buy the James Earl Jones CD's unless you want to hear distracting music droning on in the background.

Has anyone heard about the one that is currently being recorded featuring a lot of different people? It's called, simply, The Bible. They read the entire Bible but depending on the voice is a certain character. Features a lot of Gospel singers and actors. I think if you are a fan of audio books, this might be one of the Bible that you might enjoy.

Here is a link to an article about this project....

I have one narrated by Stephen Johnston, and sometimes they use other voices, and background sounds and music, it goes fast only 70 hrs, I timed myself once and it took around 95 hrs. It's good for books like Chronicles, some of those names are hard to pronounce, but this guy does it quickly and clearly, I guess that's why they hired him.

This is what I don't want. I would be listening to the background instead of the bible reading. lol

I listen to it online quite often when in study.

I use http://www.blueletterbible.org (Fantastic site)

You can choose to hear the chapter read to you as you read along. I retain better when i hear and read at the same time.
