Dumb Reasons People Leave a Church

You know it is time to leave a church when,

...the pastor's family (daughter and wife) take the reins of leadership and because of their last name feel they have the right to treat people like they are disposable...and besides, several (who are more humble and less likely to become offended) will take their places.

Make yourself indisposable then. Make them regret that they never realized everything you have to offer. Turn the whole thing around on them and pile up coals of fire upon their heads.

There was a story of a man that left the church because of embarrassment.

He had lost a lot of weight...and on a particular Sunday was in the process of placing the attendence number on the board when his trousers slipped down around his ankles.

Unfortunately, the attendence board was in the main auditorium...in front of the entire crowd.

The reason may not be as dumb as others...but....worse things have happened.

Dude, its over, done with...reconciled, the moment I realized the church didn't need me in order to function and have revival, it was fixed.

We had a family leave a couple of years ago because our Christmas musical had some nontraditional songs in it, like "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas".

They were appalled that we sang that in church!!!

Back in the early eighties, I had a family to leave because I uttered the word RAPTURE in a sermon.

When I discussed his issue, he responded that the word RAPTURE was not in the Bible, and therefore I was being non-biblical.

We had a guy quit our church because someone changed the lightbulb after he put one in. We changed the lighting only for one sevice because we had a youth function.

We got a Christmas musical for our kidz club to do last year. One of the lines of the song says ... the ox and ass are grazing so... I didn't realize it when I bought it....

we sang the song word for word... Not one comment from child or parent. The kids were too busy remebering their dance steps to be concerned with the word... lol

In my father's church, he asked an usher to pray over the offering. I guess it startled the man, because he asked God to bless the food!

His face turned red when he realized it. He was so embarrassed that after the offering, he left and never returned!
