What?

Where did you get your belief?

A belief for sure does not constitute truth.

Does not even add up to a conviction?

Your shrouded belief finds its roots in the JW doghouse.

Not believing in Christmas does save the cheap man money...

Holidays- ALL Holidays do have PAGAN origins.

Jesus was NOT born in December.

He did have a birth- so what?

He had a death and resurrection. That rather is cause to celebrate. Only stores don't give away prices at Easter like they do between Black Friday and Christmas Eve.

BTW 150 shopping days left.

Without His birth, there would have been no death.

And you say-so what?

And thanks for the tip. I have plenty of time!

I celebrate the birthday of Jesus which was 2000 years ago. I also join in the festive mood of the Christmas season that is a custom, culture, holidays, and is part of our national identity. Jesus did the same when he was here. He was not a social odd-ball.

I sing "Joy to the World," "Silent Night, Holy Night," "O Little Town of Bethlehem."

I sing "Jingle Bells," "Here Comes Santa Clause," "I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas," too.

I hang lights, put up a Christmas Tree and fully decorate it too. Then, I wait to see how many will express their ignorance quoting a certain scripture from Jeremiah.

But wait, HO did not want to turn this thread into that discussion.

I have not read thses threads due to the time factor but let me say I am deeply thankful He robed Himself in human flesh and came to earth...He now knows what it is to be human...and have the same feelings we have.
I believe Jesus is God but I also believe He became man...for GOD cannot die but we can rightfully say the one who died was God...
Hark! the hearld angels sing...glory to the new born king...
Yes, I know it was not December for I am a "learner" of the feasts of the old testament...however I am glad He came and because He came, lived and died and rose again we can walk right into His presence.
Celebrate everyday that He came...don't be caught up in the world's ever spending merry go around...Rejoice because one day in the city of David, a Savior was born... Christ the Lord...
May our lips tremble with praise and our hearts beat with joy that among over 6 billion people He has become Christ the Lord to us.

I ave a question for the crew......

Quote:
Mar 13:32 But of that day and [that] hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.

This verse lets me know that Jesus, as he spoke to his disciples, stood there admitting to not knowing what day and hour God would return. He stated that ONLY the Father knew the day.

Would not this show that there was a division or difference in Jesus the son of man, and God the Father?

Yes it does. So does many other places too. Among them is the fact that he prayed to his father. "Why callest thou ME good, there is none good but (the father) God...and so many other places too, where distinctions are shown in the preglorified state. This is how the polytheist come up with their theories since they now recognize Jesus as God too.

So would this mean, given scriptures like this, that the only way one could believe that Jesus was God while walking this earth was that either he was a "lesser God", or God became less that the Almighty? I mean if Jesus was not omnipotent.................

So it is assumed among the like of the JW and the Unitarians who are today's Arians that believe Jesus is a demigod.

Since glorification, since he did as he promised to do, "...go to the Father," since he has been given all power both in heaven and earth. Since he has become ONE with the Father through the process of glorification and his own metamorphosis, it can no longer said that he is any way distinct from the Father...now KNOWN, according to Isa 9:6 as the EVERLASTING FATHER.

To the polytheist and the Arians, this is a great mystery. Can you imagine...a man that was changed into the invisible image of GOD!!! The mystery of change in a catepillar to a butterfly! Who can understand such mysteries. Yet, that same power to a much lesser extent, is working in us, not to become an object of worship or adored, but to BECOME LIKE JESUS...if we will FOLLOW Jesus.

I am not presently prepared to conclude that a metamorphisis took place in the process of glorification.

As an advocate/proponent of engaging the scriptures involving the plain witness of distinction involving the Father and Son, I am not sure a metamorphisis MUST BE ACCEPTED as the operation to reconcile the larger set of witnesses, and specifically Is 9:6.

I better understand your POV and I am appreciative of your sharing it.

God's wisdom determined that he would prepare for himself an ABODE. This creative act to establish a dwellingplace would be WITHIN the hearts of his creation called 'man'. When God irreversibly (everlasting) makes his operational 'face' within a visible/discernable experience --his express image is a fully legal and appropriate identification of God as viewed from within God's creation.

His house has become him (for those viewing from within creation) because his house is the only door that we have to enter into him.
His house is the point of identification with the invisible.
God is a spirit without a house.
We are a house without a God.
The union is the all-in-all.

The permenance of this handiwork, this system/assembly (house and inhabitant; body and Spirit) is why the resultant figure is;
the mighty God
the everlasting father
the prince of peace

Yet when we abide IN HIM, we move and have our being within the Spirit.

The body is a dwellingplace.
When God's Spirit dwells there it is anointed.
An anointed body is the Christ.
The Christ has a head.
The Christ has many members.
The Christ has the Spirit of God.
Godliness is a body participating in the divine purpose by authorship and residence of the Spirit.
