My historical references note this. The point is that the majority of Jews and Gentiles observed the Sabbath foremost. Not all observed the first day. Only heathen who tried to synch pagan Sunday with the faith.

Larger gatherings on campus are on Saturday and Sunday morning. House church is on Tuesday our Wednesday, depending on which house church I decide to go to.

For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
The disciples of Jesus went thru the fields picking corn on the Sabbath.

Re: Rejoicing In the Sabbath:

Ha now I'm beginning to grasp "The Sabbath is important. Hello, it's a Commandment. But it does not supercede Grace, and if you debate the propriety of someone else's Day, you will die" (not be edifying). Aquila, I share your feelings here, but there is a sense in which when you win this battle, you will lose a war. I feel strongly here that we are directed to work with..."reality," and not allow any edicts by Officialdom to erect walls between believers. I think we might have a better chance bashing on Easter for a while?

Kinda like terrible history of christmas too..

Re: Rejoicing In the Sabbath:

I heard that in some of the Oriental countries they choose to worship on other days of the week and worship on neither Saturday or Sunday. Personally, it would feel strange, but I have no problem with it.
