Based on your post, I almost feel that you're projecting.

1) So many things happen every day, that no - obviously, I don't pray about them all. However, it's not uncommon for me to stop and pray about something in the news, 2) such as a catastrophe or war or maybe children missing, etc. It has to do with it being brought to my attention in one way or another.

3) Why wouldn't you pray? If you believe someone isn't a Christian, that makes their loss of life even more tragic, since they may not meet their maker on good terms.

1) Why not? (TIC)
2) Same here.
3) Again, there has to be some personal connection-- something that gets my attention in the way of concern.

CAUTION I AM PROJECTING HERE: When I hear of non-Christians killing each other (in regions like the Middle East or Central Asia) or when I here of some tragedy that befalls an overwhelmingly non-Christian country, my thoughts tend to gravitate towards the whereabouts of the Christians and Christian Missionaries in hopes that they are protected.

I don't usually pray good things for non-Christians-- I don't pray bad for them, but heh they have their gods. Maybe they should wake he/she/it up for their deliverance.

BTW, I am talking about the war in the Balkans-- the Christians were persecuting the Muslims and in most places, but the Muslims were persecuting the Christians too.

But it seems you are bent at nailing DKB to the wall for an caring and innocent request for prayer and support for a Pastor with a death sentence for preaching Jesus.

Why is that? Have you and DKB had words recently?
He's asked for prayer for a pastor of a church that is being claimed to have been planted 15 years ago by "message believers" ....

With the thousands being persecuted globally ... and others sentenced to death ... ONLY THIS ONE CATCHES HIS EYE ....

and hundreds of UPCIers are praying for the "Apostolic" pastor that is to be be executed .... None of this strikes you as IRONIC ... or NOTEWORTHY?

What's in the org's next bulletin ???? Praying for Global Network? Or the Potter's House?

The org has always been cautious about their fellowship ....

Seems like the word's getting out ... despite the CONFUSION.

Last time I communicated to DKB it was about HMH ... and I posted his cordial response ... before that .... my resignation letter ... kind exchange as well.

"If we pray for an evil doer to be set free so he can do more evil-- is this right?"

Some concerned Apostolic who stated in his post about the Pastor in question that he was not talking about the Pastor in question.

His sentiments (that he expressly did not express) are probably in the minority among Apostolics, right?

Well, I for one (who attends a UPC congregation) think we SHOULD pray for a GN or PH pastor that's in trouble, and yes put it in the bulletins.

I agree with you that there may exist a double standard of sorts, still yet the thread smacks of sort of entrapment for DKB. Why the negative spin?

How about praising DKB for his progressive approach in this matter?

I was at a symposium a few years ago, when DKB had invited leaders and representatives of six (or more?) Oneness Pentecostal denominations. The attendees were waiting to be addressed by the leaders. They waited for a couple extra hrs because the foot washing and prayer in the back room took predominance over all else.

DB is not a narrow leader. While he may be a conservative, he is the most progressive and open leader we and the UPCI has seen in our lifetime.

Re: DKB's Impassioned Plea For Iranian Branhamite?

Read the comments of these Middle Eastern Christians acknowledging that this group ... the Church of Iran is Branhamite ...

http://www.bosnewslife.com/14143-urg...hful-to-christ

Also it appears that the Charismatics and Evangelicals .... under the direction a well known Iranian Christian Sam Yaghnazar (brother of a well-know evangelist, Lazarus) and a group called Elam Ministries has itself, specifically targeted and labeled the Church of Iran as a cult during this ordeal ...

One of the sentenced Message Believer pastors's brother,Firouz Khandjan, and a member of the National Council of Church of Iran rebuts their accusations of modalism, etc.

See his rebuttal here (scroll down):
http://www.c-news.org/index.php

And yes some of it sounds "Branham-like" ...

Firouz goes as far claiming that Yaghnazar is in cahoots with the Iranian Security force, VEVAK ... calling him "almost a murderer". And stating "He is trying desperately trying to open the way for the murder of Christian leaders in order to establish his own reign."

Re: DKB's Impassioned Plea For Iranian Branhamite?

There is now no doubt that the Church of Iran .... led by Pastor Youcef is Branhamite

... one of the commenters left this Church of Iran website link @ http://www.bosnewslife.com/14143-urg...hful-to-christ

It forwards to this domain

http://www.irankelisa.org/kelisa/

If you translate the Farsi ... you get this ....

Their Branhamite periodicals are listed ... and so is Branham himself.

Yes, DKB asked the org to pray for the release of a Branhamite because they baptize in Jesus name.

Pastor Reza .... under Pastor Paul Graham of the UPCI church in Montreal ... listing Branhamite preachers as the brethren and church of Iran that will lead to others experiencing "salvation" on the Iranian multi-cultural ministry page...

I fail to see how this is anything but good news... Let's ALL pray!
