I could track mud all over the living room floor, and probably not get immediately served with divorce papers.

But if I have an attitude of just doing whatever I want without regard to her preferences and wishes, the relationship is surely going to dteriorate.
God will not get rid of me for shaving all my hair off. But I want to please him so I don't.

I have heard it said that the first thing a woman does when she backslides is cut her hair. That is way off. The first thing she does is toss her kapp aside. Or sometimes she might buy a car. But, cutting her hair isn't the first thing.

If the woman is covered and cannot cut her hair, then the man's hair should be shaven (uncovered) One is either covered or uncovered. As for being separate from the world, it is easy to tell if a woman is Pentecostal (long hair, pale face, long skirts) but how does one know that a man is separate?

Interesting....

I was just reading this passage in my "The Bible in 90 Days" (NIV) this morning. The NIV's interpreation in the footnotes are as follows:

Quote:
4 Every man who prays or prohesies with long hair dishonors his head. 5 And every woman who prays or prophesies with no covering of hair on her head dishonors her head - she is just like one of the "shorn women." 6 If a woman has no covering, let her be for now with short hair, but since it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair shorn or shaved, she should grow it again. 7 A man ought not to have long hair...

It seems as if the burden is always on the woman to look different. Someone mentioned earlier that the first thing a woman did when she backslid was to cut her hair. I think a woman cuts her hair because it is easier to fix and she also looks better. I don't thinks she says " I am going to be rebellious so I am going to cut my hair!" Perhaps the aggravation of having shaggy hair and not being able to fix it could be one of the reasons she backslid anyway. There are many too many other ways to be rebellious if one so chooses.

Let her be for now with short hair. Yup. How short is short? I say like a military cut or shaven. You want to use that verse to say let her be with short hair means a trim and then a man with hair below his collar has long hair?????

I have to disagree about the easier to fix and looks better. You did not see my new hairdo.Sorry but it took longer to fix before it was long. One side does good and the other does not.Plus I spent a bundle at the salon etc.Not all of us who have long hair have shaggy hair.Speak for yourself

Why did Paul mention the hair deal in his letter to The Corinthian believers ,and not mention it in his other Epistles ?
What significance did this have to the church in Corinth ?
What is the background behind Paul's explaination to the church ?
