They have a beautiful fan shaped auditorium and every service (Sunday morning, Sunday night or midweek service) the young men are spread out across the three or four front pews across the front. As the preacher preaches when he gets them worked up first they are standing and waving hankies at him. Then they all start slowly converging toward the pulpit at the front simultaneously waving their hankies and shouting out the appropriate phrases like "Preach it!".

When they all meet pretty much in the middle in front of the pulpit they stand there for a few moments then slowly start backing up, fanning out across the front to end up back where they started. All the while the hankies are still being held high and waved back and forth towards the preacher.

This is the same church where the young man who was the sound guy was spinning like a top in place in the sound booth during the entire praise and worship service except when he would stop to turn a fader up or down. He had some kind of energy!!

HELICOPTER Flashbacks...

ROFL!

LOL!! I had not thought of that. It was pretty funny because he would be spinning like a top then suddenly pause to reach out and adjust a fader.

He must have had great hearing to know something need to be louder or softer while he was spinning.

At this same church there are always two or three young men who slowly run the aisles or across the front of the church back and forth the ENTIRE praise and worship service, without stopping! They are not overweight.

Have you seen this practice? Is this really necessary?

Also, the ladies in this church "carry" their hair over their arms when they walk around.

Now, call me different, but that's just a bit out there for me. What say ye?
It sounds like it is being modeled after TD Jakes and others. Where when you agree you bring money forward to the alter.

It is a disgrace.

Look it might seem very different to me, but it don't hurt me none. Nope not one little bit. Let'm get excited and throw ties and let the women carry their hair across their arms. What does it hurt?

The problem I see is that people outside of a group tend to lump all the people in a certain group into one circle. So if someone knows about this kind of stuff in one Apostolic church, their thinking is likely to be that ALL Apostolic churches behave like this. And for most people, the message they would take from this is, "Run as far and fast away from this mess as you can"

I'm not even Apostolic anymore and I would still be concerned about the image people are getting of Apostolic people when they know about things like this.

I completely understand what you are saying. I just don't see the need to beat these poeple up over their unusual practices. How many people do you actually think are negatively effected by this one church? I would guess that most of us didn't know about it and I would have to guess that most of the unsaved in that city probably don't know about it.

It's scriptually mandated to have our church services to be decent and in order. But NO man comes to God unless the Spirit draws him. And just maybe if the Spirit is drawing, then some wacky practices will not run them off. JMHO

I would not go THAT far, but some strange behavior for sure.

How ever, if enthusiasm keeps them where they can tell what they are hooping and hollering, then well be it. If they cannot tell the 2 of 7 main points of the sermon, they need to stay in the pew and take better notes of the message.
