Well, we have never owned our homes, we have always rented. But that has never bothered me. I never have been bent on needing to own one. I am a very simple minded person when it comes to "interior managagement". I like clean and simple decor. I like to deccorate with a nautical theme and I love blue so that is me. To some peoples horror some of my decor even comes from Dollar Tree but I love it and Mr B does too. So that makes it easy. We have always been able to find places that have met our needs so what more can we ask for. When we first moved here, there was a real housing shortage. We actually had to stay in a hotel for a month! Try that for improving family relations.....4 people in one room for 31 days. God is faithful! lol. Well, we found a place that was really nice and we liked it but it was really out of our price range. Knowing with the shortage they could ask for a bery high rent and get it, we took the place planning to keep looking. We did not have to sign a lease. To make a long story short we found a place very nice for 200.00 less a month. A year later we found another for an additional 200.00 less a month. The housing shortage is not as severe so the rents have gone down some. God is good. We have a very nice place that we enjoy and meets our needs quite well.

Actually Green is grounded to the dryer itself. The four wire is an update to the code to provide a better ground.

Otherwise if you ground to the wire in the middle, you create an open circuit.

Yes, that's what my brother said - it was code to add the fourth wire now. I don't like electrical for sure, but this now seems pretty straight-forward!

The outside wires are both HOT for the current is Alternating between them both. The center is the neutral, and so in a short circuit, you want the jolt to go to ground- NOT back to the box.

You DO have Renter's Insurance also, right?

You already know the number one reason for home claims-

Water pipes bursting or Sewer and Drain Backup.

Lol....that's what my brother said - the middle plate is silver and the two outside are gold.

Yes, I have renter's insurance, but I'm doing this right and all should be well!

The hardest part now is getting the vent attached and then pushed back without it coming off. How do the expect you do attach that thing when you can't even get to it - - mercy!!!!

Home Depot should sell great big zip ties for this very purpose. They are almost as wide as the lip of sticking out of the back of the dryer.

Careful sheet metal makes nasty cuts FAST!

Well, I have the metal tie things - - don't what they are called, but it will tighten on the flexible duct and the vent. Probably is the less turns in the duct the better the drying power, so you want to make it as short as you can and to do that - you are laying on top of the dryer trying to attached it - - fun, fun!

I used to have a box that sat on top of 4 ft stovepipe and elbow and reclaimed heat in the winter.... I don't think this is legal in some areas.

you should be able to attach say 3 ft of hose and then push the machine back in place.....

laying on top of machine means you need 3 ft arms!

You go girl...It seems you have it all under control. Nothing like having clean clothes to wear to church. LOL. I am glad it is coming together for you. Moving is a job and a half no matter how much you do to try to make it easier, it still comes down to putting the stuff all away...and boy do we all know how to collect stuff!
