There are ex-UPC forums where this kind of tripe would be welcomed and celebrated. Go there and post it.

Stop bashing the UPC here. If someone in the UPC started bashing Baptists or other denominations, ILG or others would be just as upset.

Guess people feel they need to do it to make themselves feel better about leaving the UPC.

You don't get it. If other people had concerns about their own organization (if it was Baptist or whatever) and wanted to discuss them, I would have no problem with that at all because the TRUTH is what matters not what organization someone is with. It's not about defending organizations, it is about discussing issues that people care about.

Here's an idea, why don't you stop bashing the topics I want to discuss? This topic is important to me and others here so why don't you just leave this thread and talk about issues you care about? Why do you feel such a pressing need to stop this discussion?? What are you afraid of? Are you afraid someone might discuss something that might hurt you?

The thought behind my comment I stand by. It was in response to dismissing whatever a person said on the basis that a group was called out by name and it was seen as bashing. I was certainly not saying ILG was Jesus and UPC members were Pharisees.

I don't see why it cannot be done. I tried to take the topic and do something positive with it but got very little feedback to the attempt, but lots of more bashing and other accusations.

If you and others are that upset with the direction of the board, especially since you are an admin (the admin I referred to in my posts was Esther as her profile clearly stated she was admin), you should take steps to consider making changes. If you feel the board has taken a wrong direction, then steer its course elsewhere.

As I have stated before, I am more dismayed at the continual attacks on the Bible and faith than I am any attacks on a church organization. That is quite "OLD OLD OLD."

The background was as I stated. Jim Yohe (and later Mike) allowed everyone to participate. Even people from the group n David linked to participated there.

Her point could have been made just as effectively with out naming any org. This could have been an entirely different thread with out naming names. No ax to grind here though...

Sometimes I think UPC'ers on this forum troll threads and find anything negative about the UPC that is being said and then turn the thread into a DO NOT BASH THE UPC thread so the topic can never be addressed. That way, their sensitive spot can never be touched.

Exactly. Faking happens everywhere, and it's an incredible small number which do. The overwhelming number of Christians of all denominations are sincere in their faith.
