You speak ignorantly, so I'll enlighten you a bit: I've been involved in home missions in a home w/ only electric heaters that we had to carry from room to room. In fact, right this very moment my wife is cold at home because we're in a home w/o heat other than our little meager heaters. I took a church w/ 3 people once that was about to go under & built it back up by God's grace. It's still there today. I've preached many places for free, paying my own way to & from.
Have seen more than I can remember water & Spirit baptized in Jesus' precious Name since I've been preaching [to God the glory]....
I could go on & on, but will stop well short on the list lest I vaunt flesh in any way. BUT....you should learn to hold your tongue before you embarrass yourself further [unbeknownst to you of course]. I, too, deeply appreciate the Alvear's sacrifices & have made it a point to tell her repeatedly....BUT, all of this has nothing to do w/ what the Bible clearly says!
Yes, we wouldn't want you vaunting your flesh in any way.

Waiting for the Lord is easy... Waiting patiently? Not so much.
We could also talk about Sis. Willie Johnson, Sis. Nona Freeman, Sis. Oma Ellis, Sis. Mary Alice Paslay, Sis. Eva Hunt, Sis. Ethel Goss, etc.
all of them are probably burning in hell right now because they "preached" in direct defiance to the Word of God.
And where would we be if it weren't for these authority upsurpin' women?
Act 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
Prophesy prophēteuō

b) with the idea of foretelling future events pertaining esp. to the kingdom of God
c) to utter forth, declare, a thing which can only be known by divine revelation

That's a false, and emotional appeal that isn't healthy on the discussion about complimentarianism vs. egalitarianism.
Red Herrings.
Well, I haven't been on the forum for a few weeks so I don't know if anyone has preached that they are in hell.
But, in a performance based religion setting where a person can lose his/her salvation by disobeying the Bible, and, if a woman disobeys the Bible by preaching, doesn't that mean she goes to hell for disobedience?

Nice quotation from Thayer's...Did you notice there's nothing in this definition about sermonizing from the Bible as some modern women do????

Yeah, but no one is saying that. Right now it's a discussion about which is more biblical. Which is right. Can't we keep it at that level?
He never indicated it's shame because of society or culture just that's a shame. How do you come to the conclusion that's what he meant?
No one seems to have an answer to why it was a shame? Just keep repeating what Paul said, I gave reason to why it was a shame. God would not call some a shame, for no reason. You think? Just cause....?
Simply by not separating doctrine from life, so that more of the big picture comes into view.
See these verses, that have been presented to marginalize women, in the bigger picture of Paul's ministry, and his praise of women in leadership. Listen to what Paul is saying, rather than using the scripture as a sword to divide the body.
In relation to our Sis. Alvear, I see no violation of scripture in the work that she is conducting, along with her husband, sons and others.
