2) What's the deal with this racial barrier you discussed? Why would it be a barrier to anyone?

well he should....

I wish he would.

He ought to know by now that I am not the type to bite people's head off.

I do believe in open discourse-- open, honest discourse.

Bro. Alex, (or anyone else who wants to take a stab at this.)

And some explanation as to the whys and hows should accompany the teaching.

The fact that its only for women makes the church look sexist and demeaning toward women, the fact that it includes spelling errors makes them look uneducated, and the fact that its priority enough to show the general public before they even attend the church makes them look like Pharisees. (More concerned with appearances than the heart.)

It may be that none of those assumptions are true, but that is likely how it will appear to people who aren't familiar with church traditions.
Couldn't have said it better.

WOW! I feel like I am being harassed about this "racial" issue... The fact of the matter is that sometimes in black churches I can't seem to "relate" and this hinders my fellowship. I have no problem with inter-racial relations, I just keep seem to understand certain racial groups and they don't seem to understand me, but that doesn't mean we don't visit together from time to time...

I was just curious. Feel harassed though if it makes you feel better.

There can be a culture gap and it can be daunting. I wondered if that's what you meant.

I'd really like to encourage you, if the opportunity presents itself, to see what you can do about getting across that gap. It's worth the effort it takes. And that's any cultural gap. I'm currently throwing myself into a regional cultural gap, the hard way. I moved here. It's sink or swim from now on. lol

Re: Would you put up a holiness chart on your webs

nahkoe,

Just look at page 12 of this discussion... we have almost all the posts, either "bumping" the question JD asked, and JD is doing the bumping, or you saying that I will not answer.

It's almost a childish poking, saying, "Answer the question, answer the question..."

It's foolish and childish and should not be done by JD or yourself.

I didn't have time to get to that post by JD, when I had time, I answered, but even if I didn't, "bump" once perhaps, or send a PM to get someone's attention, but nothing beyond that, it is rude.

You know, you do have a way with words. I wasn't rude in this thread, if you take it that way that's really your problem.

I bumped it because I was curious what you meant.

I said I didn't think you were going to answer because I knew you'd had opportunity to see the thread and it had obviously been bumped often enough that it hadn't gotten lost. I said I didn't think you were going to answer it to indicate maybe it'd be best to stop bumping the thread and just let it be.

It's called tact. You might try finding some.

I also only have 3 pages of this thread because I view more per page than you do. It's best to indicate a post range vs a page number because you can change the setting that limits the number of posts per page.
