Personally, I don't even think pantyhose look that great on most women...especially when they're worn in dark shades of tan, or the worst ever--worn with socks and tennis shoes.
I wish there could be a class on what color pantyhose to wear...This one rule would be good: They Should Never Be Darker Than Your Hem OR Your Shoes! (with a few exceptions)
A few others:
Knee highs ought to be outlawed. Unless they're argyle or some fun print. Thigh highs are okay...if you can keep them up.
Tights are okay...in winter-time.
Black hose only look good if they're SHEER.
Fishnets only look good on hookers. Fish = Hook...they do seem to go well together.
Ornate patterns only look good on really slender legs. Unless you want to call attention to your king-size calves, stick with sheer and a single color.
If you can't afford good pantyhose, you shouldn't wear any at all. NO woman looks ladylike if her pantyhose are bagging around her ankles. Or snags and runs. Or poorly made threads that go horizontally around the leg, making them look twice their size.
Oh yeah...and don't forget to shave your legs...yes, we CAN see the hairs pressed against your calves THROUGH the hose. I know, you thought they became invisible. But, ya know...black hairs under sheerish tan...it kind of shows.

Well my wife and daughter wear knee highs, their skirts are long, if the top of a knee high shows the skirt is too short.
I agree about the fishnet and patterned hose, those are for hookers.

Oh I had to mention this. A friend of mine use to go to elder Shew's church in Fort Worth. He preached against women shaving their legs (something I would never, ever do).
He said that some of the women wore three pair of hose because the hair on their legs was so thick.

WH,
I am impressed by your stance on modesty, but moreso by the relationship you have with your family. It's a foreign concept to most in my (this) generation and even more foreign to the children of this generation, because of a lack of example. I see my wife in a lot o those posting here who disagree with you. She doesn't believe this Apostolic message and is as rebellious and stubborn as those criticizing YOU for YOUR beliefs.
[Yeah, yeah.....I hear all the "blind obedience" boo-birds cacklin' already.]
It's a wonderful thing to see a man and wife submitted to each other and holding to more modest dress standards than has crept into the Apostolic ranks.
I also find it amazing how much "good grief" and "I don't know what to say" is going on. I see "things" are alive and well (and unchanged) on good ol' AFF. It's like a soap opera --- tune in every couple of weeks and you are immediately introduced to the same characters saying the same things about the same topics as when you signed off.
Stay strong, pastor. Some of us recognize and appreciate true godly, scriptural submission!!

I have some opinions on what looks nice, but I really don't care if people wear pantyhose or not, or denim skirts or not, or even pants. I don't care if you want to wear your hair in a bun or long down your back or if you want to wear face powder.
Just be modest. When you walk by, people shouldn't be gaping.

Hey, don't be disparaging my character...LOL...I submit to my husband!!! I just made sure I married a man who didn't take a vested interest in what kind of SOCKS I wear.

Nothing against ILG, but when you have a position such as Carp's, you become a magent for nuts on the extreme to rally with and identify with...

I used to not shave my legs and wore dark hose. MB would die.
My husband would have liked me to shave my legs, but he did not say much because he knew I was doing it for God reasons.
Now, I shave and put some sleek baby oil on. Hehehe. But I wear pants over them so's nobody can lust.

Thank you
We are an old fashion family. We eat supper together everyday. When one goes shopping we all four go and all shop together and tell each other what we like and don't like. I have never had a problem with my kids about their clothes and we don't wear short sleeves. That make shopping interested to say the least.
When my kids see something they want the ask"dad what do you think?". I do the same "Hey kids do you like this?" We are close and do everything together.
