This contradicts your description of yourself as a "conservative Apostolic woman"!

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

You may see the difference, and I may see the difference, but to an outsider there is no difference.
For instance, I'm a big golfer. I can tell the difference in Taylormade clubs and Callaway clubs without seeing the name brand, just because I study the game and I'm majorly into the equipment. But, to a non-golfer they're all just "golf clubs".
I can even tell the difference in Taylormade R7s and Taylormade CGBs, even though they have similar colors. But, to a non-golfer they're all "golf clubs".
See my point?

Seriously yes. My mom was very conservative in dress back in the 50-60's, but she didn't dress that extreme either. But by the world she probably seemed that way. And yes I did get your point, was just teasing you.

Galatians my friends - read it!. Mercy, grace, forgiveness and restoration is what it is all about....Lord deliver us from religiosity, legalism, and judgmentalism. Bless those conservative brothern who rejoice in their self-righteousness, and the submission of their women.

Blessings, Rhoni
And bless also the well-intentioned but terribly misinformed counselor who spreads her own particular brand of self-righteousness around with such a broad brush.
"O Lord I thank Thee that I am not as these conservatives are; for I read and comprehend Galatians and understand the doctrine of grace, unlike the neanderthals who won't let me join their stuffy little forum."
