Christians and Cremation What think Ye?

Should Christians be cremated or no?

This is an interesting question to me. I really think it doesn't matter as to the body once the soul has left it. But what is your take on this?

1 Cor 13:3
And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
KJV

Cremation evidently has been around a long time.

Maybe the poor couldn't properly be buried in Paul's Day and cremation was the only option?

Only pagans used it.
I don't feel comfortable with it.
They burned Sauls body.

The giving of the body to be burned in my opinion speaks of martyrdom.

Ditto It is not sin - but the roots and history of cremation are pagan.

True, but it could be sin to an individual if they oppose it, but you are right God
never said, "thou shalt not burneth the body, but thou shalt bury it. With six feet of dirt thou shalt bury it. No more no less."

Sounds like good sound doctrine to me.

The options are:
  1. Slowly turning to ashes and dust
  2. Quickly turning to ashes and dust.

I repeat, many opinions, little backing to support them.

I have not read all the post and someone may have already mentioned this.I find it interesting that God became upset with Moab for burning the bones of the King of Edom.

Amos.2
[1] Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Moab, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he burned the bones of the king of Edom into lime:
[2] But I will send a fire upon Moab, and it shall devour the palaces of Kerioth: and Moab shall die with tumult, with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet:
