Sobering Stats for the Democrats

In 1994 when the Democrats lost over 50 House seats at mid-term, the party's favorable rating was 62%, and for the Congress they controlled it was 53%. They still got killed. Now the party's favorable is 38% and Congress's approval is 25%.

November is gonna be ugly for the Democrats...

Re: Sobering Stats for the Democrats

I still have a bad feeling about this. I think while the Republicans will make significant gains in the 2010 elections the business cycle will have turned and the economy will be in a decent recovery by the time the 2012 election rolls around. Americans have such short memories they will just be voting how they feel at the moment and I think there is very good chance The Chosen One will be reelected and the Dems to do ok.

Of course if they can't control themselves and continue full tilt into socializing America there is hope Americans will wake up and vote them out both in 2010 and 2012.

Interesting to watch the Dems and mainstream media try to marginalize the Tea Party movement. They take the one or two nuts at a rally and try to pain the whole crowd as such when in the fact the Tea Party folks are the least violent group of protestors and the most well behaved.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Democrats will hold the house and Senate in November.

Sure is strange most of the Tea party people scream socialism but when asked about their SS and Medicare that they receive, say that isn't socialism. Real smart people.

I know its easy to be pessimistic about it all, that way you don't get your hopes up only to have them dashed. However, there is no way that unemployment will drop that much to make a difference. In fact many of the Census workers will be out of work sometime this year. That should keep unemployment at uncomfortable levels.

The Dems are alienating Jewish voters, needed for fundraising and a key voting bloc in New York and Florida. The gay vote may stay home b/c he has not revoked "don't ask, don't tell".

A smart GOP campaign would be to replay BOs promises to only raise taxes on those making $250K or more & then show how many new taxes have been added to many of us in the last two years. In fact a fact check of BOs promises and promises broken like "transparency" and "C-SPAN coverage of the healthcare process" and on and on.

People are tired of the lies in Washington. I'm very confident we will see major losses by the Dems in November.

Re: Sobering Stats for the Democrats

Stat in USA Today this AM:

"An analysis of the last 12 midterm elections since 1962 shows that when a president's approval rating was 60% or higher in October, his party has gained an average of one House seat. When it was 50% to 59% his party lost an average of 12 seats. If a president's approval dipped below 50%, his party suffered calamitous results, losing an average of 41 seats."

Obama has been dipping below 50% since last fall. Wednesday it was at 49%.

It aint looking good for the donkeys...

Light you sound like a broken record! You need to get a new line of propaganda.

The thing that everyone needs to remember. Nothing Obama says can you count on. So listen to him between now and Nov and realize that you can't count on anything that he says.

Latest point. He said the health care bill would not cost us more but would reduce the cost!!! Ha Ha! The report is out this morning, (from one of his own people) that in fact it is going to cost over $300 billion dollars in increase!

Typical Obama! Say it! Don't worry about it being true. Just get everyone to believe it.

Let him speak for the next few months and just go back and see how many times the things that he has promised has not come true. And don't come back with "source!" I don't have at my finger tips all the news reports over the last 13 - 14 months, but if you haven't had your head in the sand and are honest you know that many, many reports have been on the news of promises made and not kept.

Hold steady conservatives and be sure and vote in Nov and the change will come. And I really believe It will be change that Obama won't like!
