Praying for the Next Conservative President:
I'd like to start a thread with prayer and discussion toward our next conservative President. I'm praying that God would use Newt Gingrich by raising him up to bring a mighty revival of conservatism to the United States. I believe he's a dynamic leader and policy maker. I'm praying and even speaking on the grass roots level about this.
Will you pray with me and support a possible Newt Gingrich run for President???
If not, who are you supporting and why? Please share and let's all pray for all these men and their families.

Re: Praying for the Next Conservative President:
I'm not sure about Newt. Especially after reading comments he made on NBC's Today Show.
Quote:
"I think it's foolish to focus on Michael Steele as a person," Gingrich said Tuesday on NBC's Today Show. "I think what we ought to do is focus on Democrats. We have a real chance to elect [House Minority Leader] John Boehner as speaker and to elect [Senate Minority Leader] Mitch McConnell as majority leader."
|
His support of not only Steele, but also Boehner and McConnell are disappointing. Steele needs to resign. His misuse and abuse of GOP funds for personal use are inexcusable. Boehner and McConnell are adequate, but should not be Speaker and Majority Leader.
If he's on the ticket in 11/12, I'd vote for him, but I'd have to hear more from him to vote in the Primary.

I pray every day for BHO....that he doesn't wreck the country anymore than he already has; that he's a one-termer; and that a conservative takes his place in 2012.

"When House Minority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio, urged President Obama to veto the $410 billion omnibus spending bill because of all the earmarks in it, he spoke from particularly high ground on the issue."
"As for Boehner, he can rightfully claim he hasn't ever asked for or taken an earmark. We rule his statement True."
On Mitch McConnell: Minority Leader Mitch McConnell , R-Ky., sponsored or cosponsored 53 earmarks worth $75.5 million, according to Taxpayers for Common Sense.

I agree with Boehner and Ron Paul that some earmarks are appropriate and necessary. We just need less and have more transparency. Ron Paul's view wasn't posted on the above link, but I've heard him address the issue of earmarks in the past. And, again, I agree!
Praying for a Conservative President to come along. I hope that Paul Ryan, Mike Pence and Eric Cantor will be able to turn this ship around! They are more conservative than anyone I know and are new blood. That's what we need. I'm not sure that Newt could stand a chance at the Presidency.

The point I was making was that you can't pray for Obama to do a good job. If you do and God answers that prayer then you won't get your conservative president.........
So all you pray for is that he screws up just enough so that he doesn't get reelected and that he doesn't screw up so badly that he destroys this country.

What Steele did was wrong. However, Newts right... if we focused on Steele we loose focus on the Democrats and their Socialist agenda. The media will demonize Steele and the RNC more than it covers the Obama Administration. The way I look at it is while yes, Steele used RNC funds for some freaky activity he should just be required to pay it back. Stepping down would be news at 11.

LOL, do wrong and all they gotta do is pay it back. I wonder what you'd be saying if Obama had done this. Impeachment possibly?

I'm just worried that Steele is a liability that will cost the GOP in the fall. As you said, the media will demonize both Steele and the GOP and cause an already skeptical public to become moreso.

Considering the individual who posted that, I doubt Aquila would have any different opinion, regardless the person or party. He's not overly partisan like some folk.
