My Taskbar

My taskbar usually appears horizontally at the bottom of my screen. I clicked on an article about Ellen Degeneres getting married and now my taskbar appears vertically on the right side of the screen. Does anyone know how I can switch back to the horizontal view?

Re: My Taskbar

Just grab somewhere in on the bar (not an icon) and drag to the bottom. It won't look like it's doing anything until you let go of the button.

Thanks Derrick. I dragged it to the bottom. It is still twice as wide, with the icons appearing vertically but at least its at the bottom. Thanks.

Re: My Taskbar

No problem. You should be able to grab it at the very top edge now, and resize it back down to make it shorter. Hopefully it will all fall back into place

I tried gabbing the edge but it either closes all the way or stays twice as wide. I checked taskbar in the control panel but it says nothing about the view. I emailed microsoft maybe thy can help. no biggie, thanks

Try using the help feature built into your OS. Click F1

Oh, right. It has to do with the arrangement of the different parts of your taskbar. Quick launch icons, open apps, etc. If you start dragging those sections around, it will resize the whole bar back down. Kindof a pain. Good luck
