Perhaps a brief overview would help.
He attacked every outward standard Pentecostal teach and used the term Pharisee and Neo-phariseeism quite frequently. If you have read Pope's or Woodrow's books it is all pretty much the same. To one who holds outward standards it was seen as a very derogatory book. I used it and the other books as primers and taught Bible classes using them. I answered every argument he raised. I challenged Pope to a public discussion he never replied.
Through the years I have misplaced the book I will probably order another. Again this is NOT personal I am friends with some of Pope's family and I have never met DW and certainly have no desire to impugn him or slander his character. It is his book that is the problem and again he wrote it and published it.
LS sent me his booklet on prophecy I did not order it but it came in my mailbox and when I replied to his book he jumped through the roof. But he wrote it and published it and sent it to me unsoliticed so I answered him. Anything I write is up for discussion.

If a thread would be started about Ruth R Tommy Tenney or ANY other author to announce anything about them. We all know that eventually the thread would go in the direction of the works that said authors wrote.

On a public forum, whan an author is mentioned in any fasion, know that a discussion will ensue about the content of the books written.

I'm glad Br Wasmundt is doing great after his surguery. I'd love to hear him preach at my church again.

I recommend his books to anyone who seeks an understanding of scripture.

I see no problem with discussing the content of his book on any thread that mentions him.

Carry on !

DMW did not "attack" standards. He poses some very serious and thought provoking questions. Questioning is not an attack.

I have three of DW's books
Neo-Phariseeism
Pendulum Extremes
The Ultimate God Road

I have only read the first one. The others are on my reading list somewhere.
I would recommend Neo-Phariseeism but that would be expected just as we would expect Eld. Epley to recommend Eld. Ensey's article on tv.

I gave a copy of Neo-Phariseeism to my brother-in-law (a Jesus' Name preacher and former pastor) and he liked it and agreed with it.
Recently a young Apostolic pastor of a local church her told me that he had read Neo-Phariseeism and liked it.

There are differences of opinion among Apostolic folks on what we call "standards." I happen to agree with what DW wrote. He did not convert me. I believed that way before I read his book. Some Apostolics would not agree with what he wrote. But that just shows the diversity among us.

No, it is not an attack. Why is it that everytime a question is asked, or a challenge is made.. oh nevermind.

If I wrote a book and entitled it "Apostates of the Apostolic Church" and the book was about those who were anti-outward standards would that be seen as an attack?????????
