Hurricane Florence. Keep this in prayer
Hurricane Florence is heading straight towards North Carolina as a direct hit. She may come in at a maximum hurricane. We won't know until Wednesday. Also have hurricanes marching off the coast of Africa, so it looks like towards the end of the season things are heating up. Brother Will is in North Carolina so keep him, Kat, and baby in prayer. Hurricanes, and Tropical storms are none too friendly.

Re: Hurricane Florence. Keep this in prayer
Thanks y'all. Not my first rodeo as far as storms go but this is a new area for us...me mostly and I have no idea how prepared people are around here or how well their infastructure is set up to handle it.
Good thing is that I finally got back on Lyft with a different vehicle yesterday and today I'm hitting it hard to make some preparation for it.
Need to get a adapter/battery for CPAP in case power goes out so I can breathe.
Gonna get.10 gallon buckets to be able to flush and of course water/wipes/non perishables/extented life food.
My FIL is taking this all too casually...I'm like,"Um no dude...this is serious."
Prayers are really appreciated and a big thank you to Benicasa for reaching out over the last few days...means a lot.
Also gonna try and see if there is any places needing volunteers and offer some muscle.

Unless the storm tracks like Hugo, it generally will only bring high-water and rain to Charlotte and westward. A Cat 4 coming into the extreme south edge of NC, and heading NW inland, turning or stalling at the mountains would be the worst statewide. The folks that remember Hugo are only moderately bothered by the thought of another unless they live on the coast to the coastal freeway area.
We do have a tradition to buy Wallys all out of bread and milk, for hurricanes, and snow.....
Hoping she turns out to sea, which only one model was showing last night.

Wouldn't the storm weaken dramatically and quickly upon landfall? If it made it to the mountains in NC, wouldn't the mountains actually cause the storm system to weaken even more?
