We just hosted a political rally at our home. It was a private event scheduled at our home as a "Meet & Greet" for a good state representative candidate. She is Republican and on the right side of the issues IMO.
She homeschooled her child in her last year of high school and Pentecostal too.
We had a good group turn out tonight, though not quite as many as hoped. About two dozen showed up. We had prepped for 50. We had a food bar and drinks.
We even had some heated debate over (what else?) illegal immigration. Our candidate takes a fairly strong stance on the issue, while my Baptist pastor friend would like to see massive work permits issued. I feel confident we gained some votes tonight - even the sparring partner in the debate admitted she mirrors his views in most areas.
The right to life is always a trump card in my opinion. I have a hard time voting for even a dog catcher if I know he is pro abortion. Our guest candidate is conservative, pro-life and female. I like that.
