The men don't throw their ties in this church but what they do is interesting. They have a beautiful fan shaped auditorium and every service (Sunday morning, Sunday night or midweek service) the young men are spread out across the three or four front pews across the front. As the preacher preaches when he gets them worked up first they are standing and waving hankies at him. Then they all start slowly converging toward the pulpit at the front simultaneously waving their hankies and shouting out the appropriate phrases like "Preach it!".
When they all meet pretty much in the middle in front of the pulpit they stand there for a few moments then slowly start backing up, fanning out across the front to end up back where they started. All the while the hankies are still being held high and waved back and forth towards the preacher.
This is the same church where the young man who was the sound guy was spinning like a top in place in the sound booth during the entire praise and worship service except when he would stop to turn a fader up or down. He had some kind of energy!!
