A Lesson from a Pack of Kool-aid. It may look real, it may even taste real…but it isn’t real. It is a mere imitation of the genuine. Paul spoke of those who preach “another Gospel… which is not another….” (Gal:1:6-7). No matter how real something appears, there is only one Genuine…there is only one Gospel of Jesus Christ.
ADD Sugar. To make an imitation palatable, mixing is required. But, as in the case of sugar, which can be a detriment to our physical health, a “mixed Gospel” that is based not on truth, but on error, is a detriment to our spiritual health. God’s Word gives amble warning for us not to tamper with the genuine. A well know soft drink company found out what happens when you tamper with the genuine…. We lose out. We can’t add to God’s word, nor can we take from it. The genuine Gospel of Jesus Christ stands alone, free from added “traditions of men” and free from those who attempt to take from what God says.
With Vitamin C. Truth that is mixed with error is no longer truth., but is, in fact, error in and of itself. Jesus said The truth of God’s word become “of none affect” when we mix error with it. With the false Gospel Paul speaks of in
Gal. 1, any benefit of truth is lost when error is mixed in. The genuine is pure, free of mixture, nothing is added, nothing is removed.
Makes 2 Quarts. Ever see ads on TV for these imitation fruit drink mixes? Mom comes to the door with an ice cold pitcher and 100 kids come running. Reality check: Not enough to go around. Jesus fed 5000 with a few loaves and fishes. Jesus promises an endless supply of “living waters" while the false Gospel provides “cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water”.
Jer 2:13 For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, [and] hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.
Net wt. 0.23 oz. The imitation Gospel carries no weight. It is like the “every wind of doctrine” Paul speaks of
Eph. 4. Error begets error. Jesus spoke of the Pharisees who focused on “appearances” of truth, while they ignored the “weightier” matters of God’s Word. To borrow Paul’s analogous words, the imitation offers the milk of God’s Word while truth delves into the “meat” of the Word. The imitation Gospel offers taste, sweet taste, pleasing to the palate, but of little, if any nutritional value. The truth of God’s Word, while not always pleasing to the taste, offers much spiritual nutrition.
Happy Face The false Gospel offers the allusion of happiness… but, the truth offers “joy unspeakable and full of Glory”. People search for the source of happiness, but its right there in front of them….

Pro 16:20 He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the LORD, happy [is] he.
Pro 29:18 Where [there is] no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy [is] he
1Pe 4:14 If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy [are ye]….
Happiness is embracing truth while shunning that which only appears to be truth.
