Ok....in the parable of the prodigal son....when the son comes back to his father...when the father mentions that his son had been dead ....is that a referral to a type of shunning practice? Or was there a practice like that then?

Have you found anything that supports something like that existing in the 1st Century? I have not, as of yet... but I am as interested to know as you are.
