The Fender Precision I have is a 1963 Pre-CBS model.It's kinda of a Salmon pink finish though it's kinda scratched up in places.A guy sold it to my dad for $ 150 bucks.
It has a very deep tone,all the parts are original.
Your son might cringe but I have a set of Rotosound Flatwounds on it for the deep sound.
Also it came with an old beat-up tweed case.I have a 70s style black Fender case for it now.
