I don't know Carlton and truthfully haven't studied his doctrine. However, all sins were remitted at the cross you are absolutely right. They were paid for with Jesus' blood.

Now, you and I must "trust" in faith what God's Son did for us. And we must receive his gift of love to us. Then and only then can we become the sons of God.

John 1:

12But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
