It may not.
But what starts first, inevitably--my fussing?
Or the dog pile?
I am a responder in this particular conflict, not an instigator.
But this is a discussion forum, and I guess we can all post what we like, as long as it doesn't violate the rules.
So, right now I am convinced of the futility of the battle, and thinking to myself, "Why do I bother?"
But I know that it is in my nature to defend somebody I like when I get the feeling they are under fire, regardless of whether my perceptions are always perfect or not. That's just me, and unlikely to change.
I don't claim to be always right, or just, or keener in my judgment than anybody else. I have defended folks before who turned out not to be good candidates for my loyalty. I probably will again.
But this I can tell you--if you are my friend and in a bind, you don't have to wonder about where I will be and what I will be doing when somebody drops the hat.
