Because if I voted for a delegate under a candidate, then that delegate won, but the delegate did not vote for that candidate at the convention, I would be very unhappy with that delegate and feel as though the will of the had been thwarted and my vote stolen.

If the candidate becomes caustic to the party, the delegates should be able to vote their conscience. Many of the delegates stated that they didn't mind Trump's rhetoric at the beginning because he was hitting against political correctness. However, as time progressed, Trump began to spiral down as his mean-spirited, arrogant, rude, tasteless, classless campaign became a stench in the nostrils of sane Americans.
