I don't think the Lord is pleased when we treat prayer like some kind of last resort or spare tire that we reach for when all else fails.
I believe people would receive their healing more often if they went to God first instead of always running for the medicine cabinet or the doctor.
It grieves me to think of Him bearing the stripes in vain.
I do NOT preach against going to doctors, but I do encourage our people to trust God and stretch their faith rather than being so quick to run to the medical profession.

I agree 100%.
I have seen people who wear their illnesses as a badge of identity. It is what defines them. Can I say it? Some folks don't want healing. So they rely on drugs to treat the symptoms rather than a God that can cleanse.
