John defines who knows and is in Yeshua.
3And hereby we do know that we know him,
if we keep his commandments.4 He that saith , I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.5But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected :
hereby know we that we are in him.6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk , even as he walked .
1 John 2:3-6
When we stop keeping his commands we are no longer in him.
Paul said those who are Christs have crucified the flesh.
22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,23Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. Gal. 5:22-24
