We Ran Up Record Deficits: You Should Sacrifice

Sometimes I'm amazed at politicians and their logic. Government runs up record deficits and then they turn around and say, its time for Americans to make sacrifices. Don't cut spending---oh no! We wouldn't want government to sacrifice! We need Americans to pay more for their lack of discipline and leadership.

And to pile this on the backs of the so-called rich is preposterous! They pay MORE than their fair share. Most of us do. I am not in favor of the poor paying taxes. But I'm also not for middle class and wealthy Americans paying more. How much more do the need? They will always need and want more!

For those of you embracing "the rich aren't paying their fair share" demogougery---wake up! Its a deceitful ploy to allow government to remain irresponsible and unaccountable to the American people. They owe it to us to deliver what they can delivere and to be homest about what they have overpromised. The sacrifice should be made on the part of people who have been promised a bill of goods. America---we cannot get something for nothing! And we can't expect someone else to foot the bill!

The so-called wealthy in America (I say so-called because there are a lot of entrepeneurs that generate a lot of money, but their take home pay is modest, but according to the IRS, they are "wealthy"---I know some of these folks, I pastor some of them) are the job creators, the risk takers, the investors that keep America prosperous and innovative. All we have to do is llok at the nations of Europe to see how we can become second tier nations. Some of those countries take 70% of their citizens income in order to fulfill all of the social experiments and commitments to its citizens. And they do that without maintaining strong armies to the level we do because we are sworn to protect them! Imagine how much they would have to spend if they had to invest in defense like we do.

They have all of these programs for everyone and what do they get for it? Britain has one of the highest hospital infection rates in the West, they have an abnormally high death rate among hospital patients compared to the US rate. The Euro is crumbling. Greece, Portugal, Ireland and Spain are falling apart economically.

And yet the left is love with European style socialism. I don't get it (them). They don't get it (common sense).

If we end up with four more years of Barack Obama as president, you can mark it down---it will take decades---decades---to dig ourselves out of the hole he and his liberal policies will create.
