No I dont listen to either Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hanity. Although I have heard them both and think they are quite entertaining. (that is what they are you know...)
and Lite, considering Uncle Ronnine was dealing with lowering the top rate from 70% to 50% (pretty big drop) I would be happy to see the current top rates cut by that same amount! LOL!
Also consider that the top 1% under a 50% tax rate in 1983 paid 20.32% of the total tax bill and the top 26% to 50% (where middle income people fall) payed 19.73% of the total tax bill.
then in 2006 (last year avialable from the IRS) the top 1% paid 39.89% oof the total tax bill and the 26% to 50% paid 10.75% of the total tax bill.
GWB for all his evil created a system that was vastly more progressive.
it did lead to rich people making more money. It also lead to rich people paying more taxes, hireing more people, and spending more money. all of those things are good for middle income people.
