Re: Honest Opinions
Note to preachers:
1. Don't try to preach everything you know in one sermon. There will be other services. Stick to the message and the message will "stick" in the minds of those who listen.
2. Don't preach to the preachers to get their approval. You've already got their approval or you wouldn't be preaching in their church. Direct you message to those in front of you, not to those sitting behind you.
3. Don't refer to Facebook as a "cesspool of backslidden Pentecostals" when the church you are preaching in has a Facebook (and a Twitter) page!
4. We get the message. We are still hungry and thirsty, not because its Moses (the preachers) fault, but its our fault because we still love Egypt. Or maybe it IS the preachers fault because he's trying to feed us yesterdays Manna and we're having to drink stagnant water. Give us some MEAT of the Word and we won't be hungry! Give us some of that LIVING water.
5. Sick of love? The very thing Jesus said would identify us as His disciples? Sick of praying people thru and having them come thru the prayer line over and over again? Could it be that the reason we have to pray for them over and over again is #4? . Maybe we need to get in the prayer line ourselves because we are SICK... sick of love.
6. An altar call that last more than 5 minutes is a waste of time. Get to the point. If it last more than 5 minutes.... you've done lost their attention.
7. Worn and tired cliches are just that... worn and tired. And, they are just cliches.
But, then again, maybe I should keep my opinions to myself.
