Here is the view looking out the West side of the castle. It's overlooking the River Nore.

I loved being here and imagining what it was like so many years ago. I could imagine the hunting party taking off up the North side grounds, while the ladies were having their tea in the gardens. And what a romantic view that must have been overlooking the river and countryside!

Lol...yes, you spied me out!

That's also me on the left on the north side view.

I must have been doing something goofy with my face cuz I didn't think I'd be in that pic.

I was going to say I knew it was you because you said you didn't get to roll your hair! lol!

I'm glad you are having such a great time! I was thinking the same thing when I saw some of the buildings - I wonder who walked through those doors hundreds of years ago?

What rich history!

Well, I'll check later and see your additions. Loved seeing them, but I have to run for now.

How are the kids doing and are you getting your windows washed? LOL!

There are very few 'Motorways' here. It's what we would call a freeway here in the States. The majority of travel is done on very small single lane highways. And even those are scary! With all the hedges, you just never know when someone will pull out of their driveway. Even scarier are the regular roads. We travelled across several narrow bridges that could only accomodate one car at a time!

I learned that 'No Overtaking' means no passing.

And that 'Acute Bends' means sharp curves.
Yep, I remember those one lane roads with fields on each side and then out of nowhere you came upon a small hamlet with the one pub and red phone booth. That must be why the cars are so small, that and the high price of "petrol".

The first day in England we drove from Heathrow to our "flat" in Brackley and I was petrified driving on the wrong side of the road. It took awhile to get use to. The roadabouts are fun. You can keep going round and round until you figure out where to get off, then just get in the outside lane.

I finally got to sleep through the night last night.

I was so desparate for sleep on Sunday, I was just about ready to put out a HUGE cry for prayer! From day one, I have not been able to get my sleep cycle regulated. For an entire week, I have layed awake in bed every night. Sometimes, I'd hop on here for a diversion. I mostly would take naps during the day...trying to keep them to just a couple hours in hopes that it would make me tired enough to fall asleep at night. No cigar.

Then when the weekend got here, I thought for sure with travelling and being awake all day, it would cause me to crash all night. Again...no cigar.

There was a wedding party here Friday and Saturday night. They partied all night and drug in through all hours of the night. Just about every 15-20 minutes another batch would drag in. There were teenagers and kids running through the halls, yelling and laughing. It would no sooner quiet down from the night crew when the morning crew would wake up and start their noisy days out. Saturday night was the absolute WORST. My next door neighbors got in at 3, laughed and shouted till 4, when their little girl finally fell asleep...then I had to listen to THEM for the next hour. By 6:00am, I was STILL awake, and in tears. I finally fell asleep sometime around 7, and was woken up just a few hours later by two little kids throwing a ball against my room wall.

My emotions were shot. I cried all day Sunday. I don't think I've ever been so emotionally overwhelmed like that. When we got in from our long Sunday drive, I stopped at the front desk to ask if I was going to have any more noisy neighbors, and if I did, could I please be reassigned to a remote corner of the hotel! And if I couldn't, could I please check out!

Thankfully the only patrons right now are working business men.

Which means I am now the noisy neighbor!

And seeing as how it's after 1am here, I better hit the sack! Have a good night all...I'll post some more pics from our Sunday drive tomorrow night hopefully.

England is my favorite place and after visiting Scotland last year it is now also up there among my favorites.

I want to go back to Scotland and tour the Highlands on motorcycles with one or both of my sons.

Thanks!

We've had a wonderful time here! The people are so polite and helpful. Just about every time I've asked for someone's help to find something they practically walk me to the place I was looking for...even if it was in the opposite direction they were headed!

I have so many more pics to post...from the other castle we visited on Sunday, and another one today...but it will have to wait till we get home. We will be checking out tomorrow morning and will be in the air at 2pm. (That will be 6am for you Harmony!)

Please remember to say a prayer for us ya'll! It would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

We will arrive home at 10pm Thursday night, and may stay the night up in Portland before travelling home as it may be too late for us to drag in and wake everybody at home.

Ah, Mrs. I am so sorry for all the troubles you went thru on your trip.

Praying for a safe journey home.
