WWPF and UPCI
The UPCI seems to be taking a firmer stand on holiness standards, in my opinion, to prove that they're not as liberal as the exodus and formation of the WWPF made them seem. Does anyone think that if the UPCI continues to reaffirm its stance on holiness standards that there may possibly be a merger of the two groups? Many of the WWPF crowd are not as conservative(AMF) as a lot of people think and are moderates that were tired of the constant pushes that were being to lean more toward the left. What's you're opinion about the situation?

DKB may be trying to lock the barn door after the horse is stolen.
His "Apostolic Identity" thing may be a power play like "a new broom sweeps clean" since the TV thing and the resulting exodus happened just before his watch and he doesn't want to appear to be "weak" like his predecessor who will be known as the guy who let TV in the door.
That's politics I guess.

Re: WWPF and UPCI
It must really bother some of the UPC politicians to see the exodus of ministers and lack of new ministers and realize that about all that's left is a bunch of old men who seem to be out of touch with reality.
Reminds me of a bunch of old and decrepit seniors gathered around a rusty and decaying idol god and reminiscing about the good old days of glory.
This also has to hurt the organization financially.
What will this do to the lifestyle to which they have become accustomed?

Why do you think so? Issues with leading positions?

Re: WWPF and UPCI
No way. Don't think they'll ever re-merge.
Some of them may go back to the UPC, but the organization will stay. For several reasons.

I agree that many of the WWPF are not the "cons" that some (and even some of the WWPF!) have made them out to be. NW was never a "standards nazi." His participation has already been hashed over so I won't pile on right now.
The UPC has always seemed to be "really strong on standards" after every split. For some reason this appears to be part of the collective DNA. I think it is a symptom of not ever really establishing Biblical standards.
