Berk, I can't even do it very good in fun.

Sam,

In all honesty, good article, I love the book of Hosea for the reasons you posted, God is so unlike any kind of lover, He puts up with such unfaithfulness time and time again, returning for more abuse by those who he has only been good towards.

Thanks for posting it,

Keith

My wife manages it for me, to many solicitations from Porn and other questionable people. She has been on there in awhile, but I will bug her to do it.

Many years ago (back in the nineteen seventies) I was teaching a Sunday School class of teenagers at our ALJC church. I had read Hosea and was so touched by the story I decided to teach it one Sunday. That was back in the days when Mayberry RFD was popular. When I mentioned the name "Gomer" a couple of people repeated the name "Gomer?" and then there was some snickering. Someone said "Shazam!!" and then someone said "well, Golleeeee" and it was all downhill from there on. I had to laugh myself. They were a good bunch of kids and turned out to be some good adults but that name "Gomer" was just too much because they all were familiar with the Gomer character on tv. I never did recover control of the class but we did limp along to a finish of the lesson.

Anthony Mangun preached an incredible message on this story called "The Love of God."

The story is one of my favorites in the Bible. Shows how much God truly loves us.

I heard C. L. Franklin preach this on radio probably 35 years ago. This man was a tremendous speaker.
