Redistribution of wealth

E-mail sent to me today.

Today on my way to lunch I passed a homeless guy with a sign that read "Vote Obama, I need the money." I laughed.

Once in the restaurant my server had on a "Obama 08" tie, again I laughed as he had given away his political preference -- just imagine the coincidence.

When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained to him that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept. He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to redistribute his tip to someone who I deemed more in need--the homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight.

I went outside, gave the homeless guy $10 and told him to thank the server inside as I've decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy was grateful.

At the end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiment I realized the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn, but the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn even though the actual recipient deserved money more.
I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in concept than in practical application.

Re: Redistribution of wealth

We may be laughing now, but we won't be laughing for long.

What incentive to I have to work hard to provide for my family (other than, of course, the scriptural ethic that says if I don't work I shouldn't eat) if someone across town is sitting back and relaxing, all the while reaping the benefits of MY labor? Marxism is no joke! And unfortunately, that's exactly where we are heading.

Sis Falla,

I don't see it in that light at all!

I see it as people paying thier fair share of Taxes!

In Canada, as it is in the States, the middle class bears the tax load.

Lower income people get breaks and pay little or no tax.

Upper income people don't pay any or all tax's.

Case in point, we had a former Prime Minister who owns Canadian Steamship lines.
In 2003 I think it was, he made $200 Million, he only ended up paying $300 Hundred Thousand in tax's because of loopholes & because he has those ships under foreign flag.

I however work from Jan until June before I am through paying tax's.

Is that fair?
I want a break in tax's & want the rich to pay their fair share.

Besides, Greed isn't a Christian virtue!

Whether Obama will deliver that remains to be seen!

Bro. Ron,

IF you think I am for redistribution of wealth, you missed the point!!

And I have NOT given up as I am NOT looking to the liberal media, but

praying that our Great Lord God will deliver us out of the bondage we

have been in. He knows and hears the cries of His people just as HE did

the natural children of Israel. Deliverence came in and through the Lord

Jesus Christ. That's where true deliverance still comes from. He whom

the Son sets free is free indeed. We who know HIM are blessed beyond

measure. Things, money (and we need money to live) but above our

needs, the things we want are the things that become our burdens.

A couple of days ago I sent these words out to my family as I felt the
Lord speaking these verses to me: I posted them here I think:

God favors the Rightous, the wise.

Check it out.

Ecclesiastes 10:2--

"The heart of the wise inclines to the right,
but the heart of the fool to the left."

Righteousness exalteth a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.
Prov. 14:34

Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD;
Psalms 33:12, in part.

Today I awoke with another verse going over and over in my mind!

Psalm 68:1,
Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him.

I would add another to that. Verse 3 of that same chapter!

Psalm 68: 3,

But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God: yea, let them exceedingly rejoice.

Blessings,

Falla39

Re: Redistribution of wealth

That was very funny! Although I would like to see certain types of distribution (note I did not say REdistribution). For example, the people who are making $6.75 an hour cleaning hotels rooms and such-like, making the big chips for people sitting in offices drinking martinis during 2 hours lunches.....I would like to see that wealth a little more evenly distributed.

Sis Falla,

I didn't say you were for, or against this "Redistribution" I am only saying that I think that people want relief from the heavy burden of tax's.
I believe the middle class is taxed too much & the upper class taxed too little.

I agree, God is good to us & we all have a hope that the world didn't give and the world can't take it away!

God is good!

This is true. Tax breaks are supposed to go to large corporations for the creation of jobs, not to line the pockets of the rich.

I am a republican based mostly on the moral values of the party. But I am also pretty green and I don't like the rich getting richer. If they do what they say the tax breaks are supposed to create jobs. I do not like the confiscatory views of the democrats.
