Sources are the National Hurricane Center and www.wunderground.com, as well as on CNN right now.

Cameron, LA is already getting a 6' surge, and the storm isn't even THERE yet.
I'm getting Houston's local weather. The national weather channel seems to blow this up a little more than it actually is.

The MB keeps going up and down and when it goes up it indicates the storm is weakening. Last night they said it could possibly come in as a Cat 1, but that doesn't look likely.

We will decide at 10:00 if we are going or staying.

All of my family and my husbands family has been calling saying get out of dodge!

Thanks, Esther. Our reports are coming in same as yours. Our local station also said they anticipate it coming in as a category 1, but then bumped it back up to a two.

The aspect of how large it is is one factor why it is having a hard time gaining massive strength.

We are just waiting and watching, but know that we won't get the largest impact since we are on the left side of this storm.

Sometimes you can't because the phone lines go down. I have cell and land lines and cable internet.

Hopefully, one will work.

PO and AG and the Admins have my phone numbers.

The biggest danger in this storm will be the storm surge. You can't run from a 20 foot wall of water!
I agree!

I think we are 35 miles away from the water.

Well, I'm praying. Even a Category one can do a lot of damage. We've been through that and had trees on houses all over the place. Fortunately, nothing in our yard was harmed. Branches were lying at the base of the trees. It looked so weird, like they were placed there on purpose.
