Walking Where Jesus Walked

I have said it before on here that I am always amazed... and maybe a little amused... at the number of people who go to the "Holy Land" each year. They go to walk the streets Jesus walked... to see the sites Jesus saw.

Well friend... I hate to disappoint you but that city was completely and utterly destroyed in 70ad. It was destroyed so completely that it was used as a farm field for years. The street called Straight that Jesus walked... gone. No longer there.

The same goes to the rest of it.

So why do I say this... not to ruin anyones day or to be rude etc. I saw a picture today in a video that made me think.

It said... walk where Jesus walked... and it appeared that he was walking on water.

I thought about that and thought...wow... that makes me think.

You want to walk where Jesus walked?

Walk with the sinner. The street called straight is gone. But sinners are still here.

You want to walk where Jesus walked?

Walk with the publican...
The harlot...
The widow...

You want to walk where Jesus walked?

The only "places Jesus walked" that remain are the empty spaces beside the sinners of this world... and the water...

So... I would challenge us all... to walk where Jesus walked.

Digging4Truth,

There is so much truth in what you have posted. Even Paul tells us that to walk with/be identified with Christ we must also partake in the fellowship of His sufferring. Christ was ridiculed by the religious leaders of his time for: eating with the Publicans and sinners, talking with a Gentile, healing a leper, forgiving a harlot, and being all the places the religious leaders didn't dare go. Jesus walked on water...He was the foundation...He asks us to take up our cross and follow him.

Excellent thread...makes us think.

Blessings, Rhoni

My threads always make people think...

Of course... usually the thought is "Good grief what is he up to this time" but it makes them think nonetheless.

jk

Thanks so much... and thanks for the link to the video that made the thoughts begin to roll around in this dusty old mind.

I don't like to call the land, the "Holy Land" because I do not believe

it is anymore holy than the soil in my back yard. To me, it is the land of

the Bible, or Bible land. Where it started but by no means ended! There

has to be a beginning to have an ending. Jesus said He was the first and

the last. The New Testament or Covenant begins with the death of the

testator of that will and testament. Out of the old and into the new. Old

natural (law) covenant, Old Israel, New Israel, Old natural Jerusalem, New

Jerusalem (spiritual). The new comes out of the old. Each new generation

comes out of the old and the old passes off the scene or stage. There are

some lines cut off because they quit bearing fruit (producing after their kind.

How many families do you know that have no further generations coming up

or following them. Who cut it off! God or man!! I have a dear friend who

married a preacher's son. He was an only child. they married, produced one

daughter, who never married. That line is no more. I can tell you of others.

Sometimes humans end their seed or future generations. They make a de-

cision that we are through! I would rather leave those choices with GOD.

What if Mary had said, No, God, I will not have your child, Savior or no

Savior!! She submitted to God's will, not hers!! Sure she suffered shame for

his Name!! Jesus told His disciples that if they suffered (identified) with Him,

they would reign with Him. Where do you think those thrones came from!

Jesus told his disciples that as His Father had appointed Him a Kingdom,

so would he appoint them a kingdom. And He told Peter who wanted to know

what was in it for them. They had given up all. Jesus told him, In the re-

(again) generation, when I sit in the throne of my glory, ye who have followed

me in my suffering, will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes

of Israel!! Why do we not hear about this!! What would they judge the

twelve tribes by! The apostles teachings or doctrine, of course. Where did

it come from. Jesus opened their understanding before He ascended into

heaven, that they would know exactly what He was talking about!!

Jesus has a kingdom that will never end! Those in His kingdom (of God)

will produce after His kind! He is the TRUE Seed that would bless the

nations of the world!!

How on earth did I get on this, Bro. Digging4Truth!!! Is it the truth??

So true bother... so true...

Gal 3:16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

So many things in your post are true on so many levels yet so few understand it. These things are so important to be understood so that we can realize and then walk in the full promise given to us by God.

Your post was so very refreshing to read.

Thanks so much for sharing it.
