Personal experience has allowed me to see conservative men with modest haircuts and clothes and godly looking ladies with hair stacked up high and dresses from the neck to the floor who, while outwardly displayed the epitomy of standards, were black inside.

No, the way I see it, you're using a few extremists to say that we shouldn't try any new methods in the church, because your post implies that anyone who lets go of any man made standards eventually becomes a God hating sinner. Can't let go of the "old paths". Which were "new paths" fifty years ago.

Agreed on not becoming disillusioned. Those whom I described are dwarfed by the number of truly Godly people.

No one is saying to let go of tongues. However, far too much emphasis is placed on outward appearance which, I believe, is where our agreement would unfortunately end.
