Dumb Reasons People Leave a Church
In conversation with a friend from another state, it came to light that a family had stopped attending a church because the pastor announced that he was going to begin teaching a series of lessons on a particular subject.
The family's problem it was revealed was not the SUBJECT, but the fact that the pastor was teaching A SERIES of lessons on the same subject.
Teaching a series, they contended meant the pastor was not allowing the Spirit to direct the services as the pastor had ALREADY PLANNED what the topic was about.
I have heard of people leaving a church because someone sat in their pew, or someone did not speak to them.
One even left a church because he had to walk 3 blocks from where he had to park his car.
Someone left the church here because of the SCREEN whereupon the words of the songs and Powerpoint are displayed.
Have you heard of any other dumb reasons why people leave a church??
Blessings

Because it was too cold in the sanctuary during the winter.
And the color of the carpet - it wasn't what one family wanted when the church remodeled.

Parson, good to see ya posting Bro.
One reason I have seen is this, the Pastor didn't shake my hand.
Even though I have seen the Pastor leave the platform at altar call, to shake someone's hand who leaves early.

"The worship is stale. We always sing the same songs."
When asked if they spoke to the pastor about their concern, they answered 'No'. Did they pray God would move upon the song leader to sing new songs? 'No'. They just left.

I have heard more than once "I wasn't getting fed there".
Some children won't eat because they don't like the food.
Finicky children? Not used to eating solids? God knows!

I am not sure this is so dumb a reason, in fact it is probably a good reason.
You know it is time to leave a church when,
...the pastor's family (daughter and wife) take the reins of leadership and because of their last name feel they have the right to treat people like they are disposable...and besides, several (who are more humble and less likely to become offended) will take their places.

And sometimes there's a famine and folks are starving indeed.

You mean one of them family run places. Funny how the son or son in law is always one called to take the church.
